To find out more about the Low Carbon Communities Network click here LoCEM's mission is to mainstream low carbon living through securing donations of media space and organising its effective use to promote desirable low carbon lifestyles. Low carbon communities can be an invaluable source of knowledge and support for those wishing to make the first steps towards more sustainable, low carbon living and it is those individuals to whom this project can make a deep impact. By targeting those who can be motivated to reduce their carbon footprint, LoCEM hopes to help communities achieve reductions of greenhouse gas emissions, fighting the negative impacts of climate change. LoCEM is a project instigated and supported by the the British Council's Challenge Europe Project and is run as a partnership between its Low Carbon Future Advocates and the Low Carbon Communities Network - a not-for-profit umbrella organisation connecting low carbon communties across the UK. Additonally, by publicising low carbon living, we hope that those who are not yet engaged with the transition to a low carbon future will become aware that communities are already engaging with solutions that tackle climate change and that anyone can be a part of this positive movement towards a low carbon, sustainable future.
